Grief Counseling

Grief looks different for everyone—there is no one right way to grieve. As a fellow griever, I understand the many ways loss can shape and reshape our lives. At Relational Roots Therapy, I provide grief counseling for individuals, caregivers, children, adolescents, couples, and families, creating a space where each person’s unique experience is honored. Whether you are navigating the loss of a loved one, a major life transition, or the shifting dynamics within your relationships, I help facilitate understanding, connection, and compassion.

Family Grief Counseling

In family grief counseling, I offer a steady, compassionate space for families navigating the complex and tender journey of loss—whether through the death of a loved one, a life-changing diagnosis, or the separation of the family. Grief often brings deep ambiguity, reshaping the world as you knew it and leaving your family unsure of how to move forward together.

In our work, we take time to honor each person’s unique experience of grief while also nurturing the relationships between you. We’ll explore changing roles, shifting dynamics, and evolving perspectives, helping your family create new ways of connecting, communicating, and supporting one another. While grief may always be part of your story, therapy offers a path to move through it—with greater clarity, compassion, and shared strength.

If this resonates with you and your family, I encourage you to reach out!

Grief may always be a part of your journey, but together, we can move forward with it—strengthening emotional resilience and building deeper bonds along the way.

  • Children & Adolescents

Children and teens often experience grief in ways that are hard to name—with big feelings, changing behaviors, or quiet withdrawal. I utilize play therapy and experiential approaches to help young people safely express emotions, make meaning of their loss, and build emotional resilience.

  • Caregivers

Grief for caregivers often begins long before a loss—quietly unfolding alongside the demands of showing up, sacrificing, and holding it all together. It can feel isolating, overwhelming, and invisible, especially when your own pain is put aside to care for someone else. In our work together, I aim to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and able to reconnect with yourself while making sense of the layered grief you carry.

  • Individuals

Grief can touch every part of your life—altering your sense of self, your relationships, and the way you see the world. It may come with waves of sorrow, numbness, confusion, or even unexpected moments of clarity. In our work together, I aim to offer a space where your grief can be felt, explored, and held with care, so you can begin to move forward with meaning and self-compassion.
